Is anyone else tired of Rock and Metal music being disrespected by these award shows who glorify the same artists every year? Rock never gets it’s fair share of the spotlight. An example of that happened just the other day at the Grammy Awards. Most of you know by now that before the Metalligaga performance, a stagehand mistakenly unplugged James Hetfield’s mic cable that fed the audio to the stadium and television, but did you notice the introduction? Laverne Cox, the woman who was supposed to introduce them, somehow forgot that Metallica was there. All she said was “Lady Gaga.” Since the Grammys treated Metallica like sh!t, we’re going to treat them like kings. Our Band of the Week is Metallica!
I’ve already had one person ask me “How can you feature them? They have too many hits!” That may be true, but I think we’ll be okay. This weekend you can expect to hear “Master of Puppets,” “Nothing Else Matters,” “From Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Enter Sandman,” “Whiskey In The Jar,” and their latest hit “Moth into Flame.”
Who else are you going to hear inside the Vortx this week? You’ll get music from Volbeat, Halestorm, and Beyonce(Just kidding). Didn’t you hear that she was nominated for a Grammy in the Rock category? That’s the crap I was talking about.
