This Week Inside the VORTX – Warped Tour Rewind 1995-2005

This week the VORTX will spit out double shots from bands that performed at Vans Warped Tour between 1995 and 2005!

We’ll start all the way back in 1995, the first year Vans Warped Tour took place. Two of the bands we’ll hear from ’95 are the Deftones and Sublime!

The Deftones formed back in 1988 and are still going strong today. They’ve released a total of eight albums including their debut record Adrenaline which was released in 1995. Over the years they’ve toured with bands such as KORN, Rise Against and many of your other favorite bands.

In 1996, Sublime broke up after releasing their final album. They were an active band for about eight years and produced several well-known tunes and inspired every fan of rock ‘n roll to own a Sublime t-shirt. Well, mostly. If you’re a rocker and don’t have one yet just head over to JCPenney and pick one up.

Next up we’ll take the VORTX time machine to the year 2000 when Green Day and Weezer were rockin’ the stage at Warped.

Since Green Day played Warped in 2000 they’ve released seven albums, been inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, toured a lot and made a crap ton of money. They are living the dream.

Weezer has been kicking it on stage since back in 1994. They’ve released nine albums thus far and will drop The Black Album later this year. Fun Fact: In 2015 the band went “Back To The Shack.”

Now we move on to the year 2005. If I had to pick the best line up ever for Vans Warped Tour, 2005 would take 1st place.

My Chemical Romance had released just two albums before their Warped Tour Run, but the set list consisted of nothing but hits like “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” and “Helena.” They didn’t release their infamous album The Black Parade until 2006.

The Offspring was also one of the bands on the Warped Tour line up back in 2005. They’ve released nine albums total, but only two of those came after the 2005 Warped Tour. The Offspring is currently out on their 2017 World Tour and you can catch them in St. Louis on September 10th (if you’re willing to make a road trip).

You’ll hear all of that and more inside the VORTX this week. Don’t forget to find us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with everything from concert announcements to exclusive prizes.
