Planet Comicon Kansas City, one of the region’s biggest pop culture extravaganzas, has announced that John Cusack and Alice Cooper will join the colorful lineup of featured guests set to appear at the event.
Cusack, who will appear at Planet Comicon on Saturday and Sunday, is considered one of Hollywood’s most accomplished and respected actors, having made his feature film debut at age 17. As a teen heartthrob in the 1980s, he starred in a number of film classics like, “The Sure Thing”, “Sixteen Candles” and “Say Anything”. He successfully expanded his career starring in a wide range of dramas, thrillers, and comedies including “The Grifters”, “Eight Men Out”, “Being John Malkovich”, “High Fidelity”, “Grosse Pointe Blank”, “2012” and “Con Air”. Cusack has over six-dozen film credits to his name and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012. He has been nominated for a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award and will be making his first appearance at Planet Comicon Kansas City.
The iconic Cooper brings his distinctive persona to Planet Comicon for the first time, showcasing a career that has spanned over five decades as a singer, songwriter, and actor. Cooper is known for pioneering a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock, achieving remarkable success that includes platinum albums, sold-out tours, and career achievement awards. A member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cooper hosts “Nights With Alice Cooper”, a radio show airing nightly in nearly 100 cities in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK and he will star as “King Herod” in the upcoming NBC live broadcast of “Jesus Christ Superstar”, opposite John Legend and Sarah Bareilles. His movie roles include memorable appearances in “Wayne’s World” and as Freddy Krueger’s wicked stepfather in “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare”. Cooper is scheduled to appear at all three days of the convention.
