Buzzfeed just released a list of the most popular food in every state according to the people who live there.  They actually surveyed people in all 50 states and at first glance they SEEM to be legit — bagels in New York, avocado in California, cheesesteaks in Pennsylvania, maple syrup in Vermont.

But what about Kansas? Well apparently in Kansas, we kind of went off the rails… supposedly, the most popular food here in the Sunflower State is not… no, not sunflower seeds… but Bierocks! You know, those little rolls filled with ground beef, onion, cabbage and carrots!?

Now if you’ve never had one, or even know what one is… that’s one in the photo above… and we’ve heard there’s a food truck in Manhattan that serves them… but THE MOST popular food in Kansas? Hmmm. Regardless, they look pretty good and we dug up a dynamite recipe for them at Curious Cuisiniere.  By the way… we’re expecting to see them on your dinner tables tonight!!
