On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all. Get together with your family, friends, community, and the planet to start creating a better future. Working together, we can and will protect our shared ocean. Join this growing global celebration on June 8th 2018!
The Topeka Zoo is getting a head start on things with a special event planned for this Saturday from 9am until 3pm. You’ll have the chance to catch special guest conservationists, sample sustainable seafood, create crafts, and more.
If you’d like to join in the celebration there are many things you can do right now, before the event;
Create A Plastic Pollution Lesson Plan: This lesson was designed with youth in mind and the hope is that young people will use this resource to teach their peers and community members about plastic pollution, inspire them with solutions, and empower them by doing an activity. It is easy to follow and can be done from anywhere!
