Revered for inventing the incomparable ‘Sledge-O-Matic, Gallagher has been getting gut busting laughs out of audiences for over 40 years. Yes, he literally INVENTED the television stand-up comedy special. Absolutely, 14 Showtime specials is a big deal and 3,500 live shows with capacity crowds is worth mentioning.
But how about that he is the reason they invented Comedy Central? Or that before him no one ever had that level of interaction with a live audience? Or that he was the #1 comedian (in ticket sales and ratings) for almost 15 years?
Gallagher has led an extraordinary life, with an even more spectacular career. Now he’s back and on tour with buddy and long-time friend Artie Fletcher, and coming to Topeka for “The Joke’s On You Tour” at Topeka Performing Arts Center on October 10, 2018
In addition to tickets being available for purchase, the comedian said he will be donating a portion of available tickets to local veterans. “My dad was in World War II, and I was born at the Army hospital in Fort Bragg, North Carolina,” Gallagher said. For additional information on the donated tickets, contact Larry Gawronski of the Topeka Performing Arts Center.
