The 2019 Grammy nominations have been revealed!
Over the last several years there has been major controversy regarding the Rock categories and the Grammy Awards. Whether it’s Metallica having mic problems or Beyonce being nominated for Best Rock Performance, there have been some issues with the nominations and the rock community has come to the determination that the Grammys suck and we’ll never watch them again. Well, they may not watch, but they’ll certainly congratulate their favorite bands on social media. This year, the nominations are actually really good in the rock department. In fact, there may only be one nomination that I think maybe doesn’t fit with the rest. Check out the nominations below as gotten via GRAMMY.com. My predictions are in bold!

There were some albums left off the list that folks like Lou Brutus made note of.
Oh, look. Albums and songs by Disturbed, Ghost, Judas Priest and other ROCK bands are ignored for the top Grammy Awards. Again. Why the fuck are the awards so prejudiced against Rock? #Grammys

Lou’s opinion is no surprise, but ghost does have a nomination. The only nomination that I am actually opposed to is Fall Out Boy for “Best Rock Album.” Their latest release was not anywhere near the realm of rock music. Another interesting that that I noticed is that when it comes to Greta Van Fleet, they were only nominated for material off of their ep From the Fires and not from their full length project Anthem of the Peaceful Army, which was also eligible for nomination. They were also nominated for “Best New Artist” overall. With that, I’ll leave you with another thought from the rock God himself, Lou Brutus:
THE GRAMMYS: My one overriding thought as I look at the Grammy Award nominations is that I'm thankful Kanye wasn't nominated for any Rock categories. What a farce the push for that was. #Grammys
