For 86 years, the annual Fiesta Mexicana has taken place. This event will kick off on July 16th and run thru the 20th. This is a fundraiser that helps Holy Family Catholic School in Topeka.
What would a Fiesta be without food! Some of the best Tamales, Tacos, Burritos and more can be found there. If burgers are your favorite, they will also take care of that. And what helps cool you down on a hot summer day? Agua Fresca’s, which are fruit drinks and Raspas, which are snow cones, can be bought.
According to the press release, there is something new this year:
This year we are holding a Mini Jamaica (huh-my-kuh) — also called Mini Fiesta — in
place of the Coronation Ball to crown this year’s King and Queen. It’s an old Fiesta tradition
that we’re bringing back! People can enjoy live music, dancing, food, and games at Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Church
grounds on July 6th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Royalty candidates and their families are recognized
for their continuous efforts and contributions to the church, community, and most especially
their support and commitment to the education of our children at Holy Family Catholic School.
There will also be entertainment and a carnival. The Fiesta will start at 4 each night run till 11 PM on Tuesday thru Thursday and Midnight on Friday and Saturday. Click here to get more info!!!!!!
