Should We Play The New Track From Nickelback?

Attention V100 rockers. It’s Ethan from V100’s Vortx here to ask you some very important questions about the status of Nickelback.

Nickelback recently released a new track called “Feed The Machine” and they are set to release a new album in June under the same name. Over the past several years Nickelback hasn’t had the best reputation among the Rock community. They’ve lost fans, gained fans and they even have long time fans that are embarrassed to tell their friends about that guilty pleasure in their playlist.

Since the release of “Feed The Machine” I’ve been watching NIckelback’s fanbase grow and I’ve seen a lot of fans of older Nickelback be drawn back to them and heavily anticipating the new record. What does all of this mean for Nickelback’s reputation? Does this mean that it’s now “okay” to like Nickelback? And if that’s the case are we talking about the whole Nickelback library or just the new stuff? It’s a lot to think about, but we want to hear from you.

I’ve been playing the new track inside V100’s VORTX since it’s release and we haven’t heard anything negative about it… yet. To be honest, I’m a Nickelback fan. I like songs from all across their musical library, including “Feed The Machine.” But, I’m nervous about how you’re going to react if we started to play them on a regular basis. I understand that we can’t please everyone, but we do want to hear what you have to say about Nickelback. Let us know if you think we should add “Feed The Machine” to our regular daily playlist… and… if we should go as far as adding other Nickelback “hits” like “Rockstar,” “Animals,” and “Photograph?” Let us know via FacebookTwitter, or by emailing me at [email protected].

Nickelback goes on tour this summer with Daughtry and Shaman’s Harvest. You can catch them at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City on July 23rd. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
