Molly Hatchet’s long storied career is one of triumph and tragedy. Founded by Dave Hlubek in 1971, the Florida-born band stormed onto the rock music scene in 1979 with the title cut from their album ‘Flirtin’ With Disaster.’ In the years following, the band would switch lead vocalists, drummers and bassists, plus weather the heartbreak of founding members passing within a few years of each other. Along the way the band would continue to churn out rock radio staples such as ‘Whiskey Man,’ ‘Fall Of The Peacemakers’ and turn their cover of the Allman Bros. ‘Dreams (I’ll Never See)’ into an etched in stone classic.

Nugent initially gained fame as the lead guitarist of the Amboy Dukes. Formed in 1963 the Dukes were known for playing psychedelic and hard rock. After some minor success with their version of ‘Baby Please Don’t Go’ in 1968, their next single, ‘Journey To The Center Of The Mind,’ reached #16 on the Billboard charts later that year. Following a split with the Amboy Dukes, he embarked on a solo career, chalking up numerous Rock radio favorites like ‘Free For All,’ ‘Cat Scratch Fever,’ ‘Dog Eat Dog,’ and the marathon 8 minute rock standard ‘Stranglehold’. Revered as an avid outdoors-man, hunter and bow hunting advocate, lately he has also become known as an outspoken political activist, as well.
