Papa Roach Releases Crooked Teeth

The day before they took the stage at one of the largest music festivals in the country, Rock on the Range, Papa Roach released their latest record, Crooked Teeth.

Papa Roach began back in the early 90s and released their first album, Old Friends from Young Years, back in 1997, the year I was born. Although they released that record in ’97, the band didn’t see major mainstream success until 2000 when they released Infest which featured the hit “Last Resort. Since then, the band seems to turn everything they touch into pure gold.

They’ve released a total of nine studio albums, including Crooked Teeth. This album is a heavy hitter and the way they released it was extremely unique. They began by starting a PledgeMusic campaign where the fans had the option of ordering several different pre-order packages all the way from a signed copy of the album to a private acoustic show with the band. They offered everything. Not only did they provide fans with fantastic bundles, but those who purchased any of the items got to get a sneak peek at the making of the album. The band shared exclusive images and video content as well as making new songs available for the pledgers before those who had not pledged. I’d say that is one hell of a way to release an album.

Crooked Teeth has a total of ten songs on the track listing. Before the album came out Papa Roach released multiple singles including the hits “Help” and “Born for Greatness.” This album includes two guest appearances. One by Skylar Grey who sings alongside Jacoby in the song “Periscope.” The other feature is Machine Gun Kelly, a rapper who performed “Scars” with the band at the 2016 APMA’s. He raps with Jacoby in the track “Sunrise Trailer Park.” Both features are fantastic and a great addition to what is an already a killer record. Like I said before, everything the band touches turns to pure gold.

In addition to the standard version of the album, the band released a deluxe version which features an extra disk with over an hour of live versions of your favorite P-Roach tunes. The best part is that you can get the deluxe for just $12 right now at your local Best Buy or online at BestBuy.com.

Papa Roach performed at Rock on the Range Saturday afternoon along with bands such as Skillet, The Offspring and KoRn. Not only did they provide a great show at a festival full of rock bands, but they also invited another band on stage to perform with them. The Olentangy Orange High School Marching Pioneers. How cool is that?

If I had to give this album a rating, I’d give it a 9/10 and would recomend it to anyone and everyone. Make sure you go pick your copy up today.
