This Week Inside the VORTX – Warped Tour 2010’s

This week inside the VORTX we’ll bang our heads with bands that have played Vans Warped Tour over the past seven years!

First we’ll go back to 2010 when bands like Bring Me the Horizon and The Pretty Reckless.

Bring Me the Horizon debuted back in 2006 and has been melting faces ever since. The British rock band has released five albums since they first started out eleven years ago. The band has also been awarded three Alternative Press Awards including Best Album for Sempiternal back in 2014. They aren’t on tour currently, but I’ve heard some chatter about a big fall tour. I’m not sure if this chatter is reliable or not, but be on the lookout.

The Pretty Reckess also played Warped Tour back in 2010 which is very impressive considering that they had just formed in 2009. They didn’t even have an album out until after Warped Tour that year. That really says something about the talent in the band. Going To Hell is the album that really pushed the band forward to playing the biggest festivals in the country and touring with bands like Nickelback, Halestorm and many more.

Next up we’ll head to the year 2014 when A Day To Remember and Motionless In White took the stage at Vans Warped Tour.

A Day To Remember formed way back in 2003, but didn’t release their first record until 2005. Since then, they’ve released a total of six albums including their most recent effort Bad Vibrations. ADTR has played the biggest rock festivals around the world including Knot Fest Mexico back in 2015. They’ve also toured regularly with August Burns Red and Motionless in White.

Speaking of Motionless in White, thy also played Vans Warped Tour in 2014. They’ve released four albums since they formed and they won’t be stopping anytime soon. They’ve gathered an extremely loyal fan base over the past few years and never have trouble drawing a crowd. They, like many of the bands this week, have played the major festivals and they also tour thir asses off. Last year we saw them right here in Topeka with KORN and Breaking Benjamin. The band has a lot of talent.

Lastly we’ll rock out with bands who are on Warped Tour this year.

Beartooth is one of the kick ass bands that’s been melting faces all summer long at Vans Warped Tour. They formed back in 2012, so they are kinda new to the music scene. They’ve released two studio albums thus far and the second one, Aggressive, is what really got them mainstream success. It featured their two biggest songs to date, “Hated” and “Sick of Me.”

Another band that’s rocking out every day at Warped this summer is I Prevail. If you have not heard their album you’re missing out. Like Beartooth, these guys are kinda new to the music biz. They just formed in 2013 and have already taken the world by storm. Their album Lifelines includes hits like “Scars” and “Alone,” but what really set them off was an EP that they released in 2014 that included a cover of “Blank Space” by none other than Taylor Swift.

Rock out with all of these bands and more this Sunday from nine to midnight inside the VORTX.
